I came 2 days in a row because I loved it so much. The first time I had a beautiful buttery pastry with a goood mocha and the next day I had the croissant mushroom benedict. The mushrooms were delicious, the eggs perfect and why don't more cafes do croissants with breakfast? Also excellent friendly service, nice vibes, music decor. Perfect Oh and the price! So reasonable. Where else can you get a gorgeous breakfast like this for under $20?? Amazing!

The Best Spot in Wellington! This place is an absolute gem! I love how they constantly introduce new and exciting flavors, and every single one is so delicious and unique. I’ve genuinely enjoyed everything I’ve tried here, from their food to their café offerings. Their teas are simply amazing—especially the pomegranate and peach tea, which is the best I’ve ever had! Every visit is a delightful experience, and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The owner, in particular, is such a lovely person and adds a personal touch to the place. I can’t recommend this spot enough!

Lovely deco and very pleasant atmosphere. I had a piece of Basque cheesecake and a big Matcha Latte. Both are exquisite. Maybe the best Matcha Latte place in Wellington. A friend had an iced Latte and a piece of pineapple and coconut cake. I had a spoonful of it. It had a real tropical flavor and was delicious. My friend said it was rather sweet and she would enjoy it more if it were less sugary. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. We will be back to try more of their delicious-looking food.

Shuchi is truly amazing at what she does, always smiling despite whatever might be happening online or in the background. Myself & my cousin have ordered multiple cakes from Le Ciel (more than I’m showing in the pics) and also more recently she made 200 Galaxy shortbread cookies for my Matariki work event… which 50+ people enjoyed and unanimously agreed were tasty! Whether you give her advance notice of a few weeks or 2 days notice, the quality and service she provides is the same. Not to mention, she is extremely reasonable with her pricing, if anything I feel like she undervalues her services and I will never not rave about how well she treats her loyal/regular customers. If you are in need of a relaxing date spot, easy & light girls lunch or are hankering for something sweet or savoury, you honestly can’t go wrong with Le Ciel.

My friend and I sought this place out on a recommendation- and it definitely did not disappoint! I had the brisket croissant and my friend the falafel croissant - I loved the croissant- love sauces and the bearnaise was sublime, the cheese had some body and the brisket yum! We completed with basque cheesecake and cherry and lemon cake and should’ve stopped after the croissants as was full already. Highly recommend- beautiful food

Le ciel bakery/cafe open up only a few weeks ago I think, taking over where Grace Patisserie used to be on Tory Street opposite Moore Wilson's. They started offering hot food from their kitchen this weekend so we had to go and give it a try. We collectively ordered the croissant cheeseburger with beef patty, the chocolate almond croissant and I ordered the French toast (the brioche version). The review for the cheeseburger was that the outside of the bun was crunchy but the inside was slightly soaked, the sauce used could have a bit more kick in it but it was otherwise very good and we recommend this! My French toast was beautifully presented, the king maker for me is the burnt butter gelato here, but I felt the whipped cream was a bit overloaded and the brioche was very thick that the flavour got lost, it just got very dense and stodgy for me, but the sprinkle of nuts was a nice touch. For the chocolate almond croissant the outside was very crispy and the layers are pretty, the filling is not overly sweet so definitely on the top of our list!

Great host. Delicious food. Nice location. Loved the selection of croissants. As soon as you walk in you get treated with a delicious smell of fresh baked goods. Everything we had was very good.
